Coin Flip Gift Exchange

A great fit for groups who don't like stealing. Everyone opens a gift, and then each player flips a coin: heads you keep, tails you must swap with someone you choose. Two rounds and you're done.

What you need

  • One wrapped gift per player
  • A coin (or a phone coin flip)

How to play

  1. Everyone picks a gift from the pile in number order and opens it.
  2. Round 1: each player flips a coin. Heads: keep your gift. Tails: swap with anyone (they can't refuse).
  3. Round 2: flip again, but now tails means swap with the person on your left.
  4. After round 2, everyone keeps what they have.

Tip: use the turn order generator to decide who flips first.

FAQ

Is the coin flip gift exchange good for kids?

Yes. It's quick and luck-based, so nobody feels targeted the way they can with steals.
